Case Officer for the Supervision Committee

Description

The Supervision Committee is a municipal authority that supervises guardians, curators, and custodians for children.

The committee's task is to ensure that individuals with a guardian or curator do not suffer financial or legal losses.

Värnamo Municipality is the host municipality for the joint supervision unit in our area, as well as the joint supervision committee. We serve the municipalities of Gislaved, Gnosjö, Vaggeryd, and Värnamo.

Currently, there are five employees in the supervision unit, four case officers and a unit manager who also works operationally to some extent.

Responsibilities

As a case officer with us, you will work independently in a team with other case officers and the unit manager. Your responsibilities include processing, investigating, and making decisions in cases concerning guardianship and curatorship in accordance with the Parental Code. You will gather information from other authorities, write statements, and represent the organization in court. You will have many contacts with other authorities, relatives, guardians, and curators. The work also involves reviewing financial reports from guardians and curators and deciding on fees.

The job also includes training and providing advice and support to guardians and curators.

In addition to traditional tasks within the supervision operations, you will also engage in development work regarding, for example, processing routines, digitalization in service, or recruitment efforts. With us, you will have an exciting, developing, and responsible job.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a university degree in law, social sciences, social work, or another relevant field deemed equivalent. Experience in supervision operations, authority practice, and development work is an advantage.

Given the number of external contacts, it is important that you can express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish. To perform well in this role, you need to be responsible, flexible, and able to work independently. You should also be comfortable making decisions that may sometimes be unfavorable for the individual.
